MAT-TUNER MAT-1F

The mAT-1F is an automatic QRP antenna tuner developed exclusively for use with the Yaesu FTX-1 Field.  It is not compatible with other transceivers and cannot be used with the FTX-1 Optima or any other Yaesu models. The mAT-1F is for users who operate the FTX-1 Field in mobile, portable or stationary QRP applications.

The tuner is fully compatible with the original Yaesu tuner implementation and behaves identically to the Yaesu FC-90. Control is carried out directly via the transceiver’s menu system and front panel controls, without any additional buttons or settings on the tuner itself. Once properly configured, the mAT-1F can be conveniently switched on and off and tuned directly from the transceiver.

On the top panel, the mAT-1F provides two different antenna connections:
A BNC connector for coax-fed antennas as well as banana terminals for wire antennas and ground. This allows operation with both conventional coaxial antennas and simple wire antennas. It is important that the COAX and WIRE connections must not be used at the same time.

The bottom panel of the tuner features an RF input (BNC) for connection to the HF antenna port of the FTX-1 Field, as well as an 8-pin control connector through which the tuner is powered and communicates with the transceiver. 8-pin control cable and BNC/BNC 50 ohm coaxial cable are included.  A status LED indicates the operating state: red during the tuning process and green during normal operation.

The mAT-1F covers a frequency range from 1.8 to 54 MHz and is designed for a maximum transmit power of 10 W. Automatic tuning is typically completed in less than 10 seconds. Thanks to its compact design and low weight, the tuner is particularly well suited for portable operation.
