Antenna Genius 8x1 Plus (8 antennas, 1 transceiver)

  • Antenna Genius 8x2 Plus is usable with up to 8 antennas, with 2 radios simultaneously connected for SO2R contesting, multi-op contesting, or making the most of your dual RX transceiver.
  • Antenna Genius 8x1 Plus is designed for less demanding applications.
  • 1.8 to 50 MHz operation.
  • Highest port-to-port isolation of any switch available today.  Typical values are > 90 dB @ 14 MHz, > 81 dB @ 30 MHz, > 75 dB @ 50 MHz.  Up to 20 dB better than other brands.  Perfect for SO2R, multi-op multi-radio operation, or one radio full duplex operation as available with the FlexRadio 6000 series
  • 3000 watts @ 1.5:1 SWR continuous duty power handling capability for up to 5 minutes
  • Hardware interlock system prevents 2 radios for connecting to the same antenna
  • Controlled automatically by FlexRadio, 4O3A Interface Genius, Yaesu BCD band data or manually by our Windows app or Pin To Port (voltage controlled +12VDC).
  • Can be remotely controlled over LAN or Internet.
  • TCP/IP (100-Mbps Ethernet) built-in, DHCP-assigned or static IP address
  • Ports: RJ-45 (100-Mbps Ethernet), 2x 15 pin DE-15 socket, VGA style for Yaesu BDC or +12VDC control
  • Stock connectors are SO-239/UHF.  N connectors available.  We are stocking both SO-239 and N versions for USA distribution at Vibroplex.
  • Multiple units of the 8x2 Plus version can be combined to extend the number of antenna ports to 16, 24, or 32.
  • Requires 13.8 VDC @300 mA to power unit
  • Dimensions 8x2 Plus: HWD 10.6" x 6.7" x 2.8", weight 5.5 lb

LAN / WAN capability was a core design capability from day one and not an afterthought.  The entire Genius product line, Interface Genius, Antenna Genius, Rotator Genius, Station Genius all work together seamlessly both locally and remotely.

Firmware updates provided free of charge.

Each Genius device has a comprehensive API to allow deep integration with other ham gear and software for logging, contesting, digital modes, etc.

OM-16 relay module:  The relay module is used as an option for Antenna Genius for antennas that require more switching capability.  An example, you have a 4 square 80m vertical array connected to output antenna connector #1 on the Antenna Genius.  This antenna has 4 directions, which the operator has to switch.  There may be a control head that is part of the antenna system with a physical knob that is used to do so.  How do you switch this from the shack PC ... or remotely?  With the OM-16, the control head is not needed.  The Antenna Genius has an output connector that corresponds to the antenna connector in use.  When #1 is selected, the OM-16 can then utilize either a voltage output or closure to ground to convey the switching signal to the antenna system.  Your 4 directions for the 4 square are then switched right from the computer, via the Antenna Genius and the OM-16.

Expansion options:  Antenna Genius 8x2 Plus can be easily expanded to 16 antennas, or more, with the use of additional units, the optional OM-16 module, and the controllable AB switch.  Here is a sample diagram:

Each transceiver is connected to an AB switch to route the signal to the Antenna Genius 8x2 Plus that either has antennas #1-8 or antennas #9-16.  The LAN is used to determine what radio is utilizing which of the 16 antennas.  Up to 8 Antenna Genius 8x2 Plus can be added to a single LAN, for control of up to 64 antennas.  The OM-16 modules are optional for switching control of stacked monoband yagis, 4 squares, etc.

Antenna Genius is supplied by 4O3A Signature less DC power cable and CAT5E cable.  Vibroplex is providing these as a low-cost add-on accessory item.
